Which subjects are the most crucial in case for a child to get a good job as soon as he or she finishes his or her childhood and comes to adolescence period? I strongly believe that studying mathematics as well as foreign languages is the most essential part of a child in order to be employed under good employments.

First and foremost, I would like to say that it is awfully important to know that the most offered professional jobs at the present are closely related to creative thinking and how to deal with critical mathematical thinking problems. Take an example of economist profession that requires creative and curious thinkers in order to get used of that particular career. Economists study on data and statistics in order to get informed of trends in economic activity and its level. Then, they assess this information in statistical analysis, mathematics and computer programming that they finally point out the best methods to improve the efficiency of a system itself.

Besides, foreign languages also help prepare a child for various good careers when they reach adolescence. It is very essential to master at least one foreign language in case for a person to deal with very well-known companies around the world. Combining languages with the study of business can help a person be well-prepared for any critical jobs in foreign commerce. These include fields like banking, marketing, finance and many more. We must be wondered such that combining foreign languages with law studies could lead to good well-respected profession in international law. No one can dispute that fact.

Last but not least, I believe that the children need to study mathematics as well as foreign languages for their bright future in their careers in life rather than explore art and music studies.

“Mom, can I go to the grand feast at Batu Burok Beach Resort today?” It is actually involving a dialogue communication between a son and a mother. So, what is the actual meaning of a communication? Did you realize that we have daily communication among ourselves? Have you done a deep research in that particular field of communication? From my recent research, we can determine that a communication is a process that allows organisms to exchange information by several methods. Generally, communications include speaking, singing, and nonverbal which then are classified as auditory means. In the aspects of physical means, a communication involves the use of body language, touch, eye contact as well as applied in writing.

What is the real purpose of communications? Why do people express their words or other ways of communications? It is quite tough to psychologically think about that. The first thing to note is that generally speaking, communication is the exchange of information between members of a group of living beings that enables survival or improved living conditions for the sender or receiver of the messages or both. Besides, people may express their feelings, conversing, speaking, writing, listening as well as exchanging. That is really true to say that communications help in developing high self-esteem among people and coming to reducing in stress itself.

One more time I got a great disappointment. Today (20th September) had depressed me a lot…Again I cannot pick up a little bit what Madam Fatimah said about our lessons this morning. Ah..so poor on me!!!

Today I have a listening exercise (TEST 2-Plus 1) that I am so disappointed about myself. I cannot even answer question 11 to 20. Nothing I can hear from the recorder. Every time there is a listening test, I will feel so depressed at the end of the lesson. How will you feel if you are in my condition?? I need your advice…

Her songs are full of sadness...The Legendary...

Umm Kalthoum occupies an undisputedly unique position in Oriental songs. She was known in Arabic as “Kawkab Al-Shark” or “Star of the East” for she was a most powerful symbol in the Middle East. She was also called “El-Sett” for she was seen as “The Lady”.
Regarded as the most gifted female voice of the twentieth century, she had a popularity that knew no boundaries and was as phenomenal as was her voice.
Not only was she considered a legend in the Arab countries, but her voice also reached many parts of the world at a time when Arabic music seemed like a mystery to much of the Western world.She was born into a poor family in a small village, east of the Nile Delta in 1904. Umm Kalthoum was the youngest of three children and lived the normal simple life of the country. As a peasant’s daughter, she grew up under the influence of religious instructions. Umm Kalthoum was taught religious chants from her father, an imam (Qur'an reader) at a local mosque as a kind of education. With time, he became impressed with her keen memorization and the astonishing strength of her voice.
He then began taking her along with her elder brother to events where they would chant to help the family earn money. Her father dressed her in boy's clothing, because it wasn’t in the Egyptian peasant tradition to have his women or girls sing and appear in front of strangers.
Despite her rural manners, her natural skill was recognized early on and it brought her to the attention of society. In 1923, her family moved to Cairo with high hopes for their young daughter to become a professional singer in the city. There, she began training and her father hired a number of music tutors.Her great ambition, love for knowledge and eagerness to learn was amazing. This was what gave her a chance in that New World she was trying to conquerSoon she became a woman of great wealth and power. During her later years, she was the confidant of presidents and kings and, above all, President Gamal Abd al-Nasser’s unofficial ambassador in the region. She traveled the Arabic and western world in support of her government.When she died in 1975, four million mourners walked the streets of Cairo to honor their beloved singer.It is of no doubt that she was the greatest singer of her time and till this day her allure and fame have never died away. She truly represented the Egyptian and Arab nation in every way.Despite the fact that her records, tapes and films are still widely listened to all over the Arab world, Umm Kalthoum’s songs are not always appreciated by some listeners. Her songs and words had an intense severity that isn’t always inviting for youngsters.However, once one finds an ear for her songs, they grow on you and easily becomes an addiction.It is not necessary to understand Arabic well or to have lived in the Middle East to appreciate the feeling behind her words.You’ll hear “El-Sett” in the background while walking the streets, drinking your coffee in an oriental or chic café, in people’s homes and constantly on TV.Umm Kalthoum lived on Zamalek Island. She owned a beautiful villa overlooking the Nile River. That villa witnessed many great events and gatherings of all sorts of politicians, artists and fans.Sadly, her home was demolished in the early eighties to be replaced with a Residential commercial tower. The tower was named after her.Lately, a statue of Umm Kalthoum was put up in front of the tower in her commemoration. In December 2001, her precious belongings and oldest records and tapes were moved to a museum on the site of the Manasterli Palace. This is a beautiful place to visit for those who know her or even the curious that have only heard of her. There, one can absorb the story of this amazing Egyptian woman holding on to her silk scarf, which she could never do without during performances.

The Arrival of Ramadhan

Today, 13th September, is the first day of the fasting month for this year 2007. This Ramadan month remembers me of the last year Ramadan that my family and I together break the fast in our home. It has a lot of different breaking fast in Uniten than at home that it seems not to be so at home here.

Education And Learning

Everybody gets his or her educations. The difference is that how they are educated or in other words how differ the ways they learn are, either formal or informally involved in any education.

Schooling starts when society or a group or an individual sets up a curriculum to educate people, commonly the young. From schools, every person will get knowledge and thus generates new ideas and critical thinking skills. No one can dispute the fact that education and learning may contribute to the appearance of many concepts and ideas as well as formulas from the previous chemists, physicists, mathematicians, astronomers, economists and many others.

In the most contemporary educational systems of the world, each person will face the level of primary or elementary education. This level is composed of the first year of formal, structured education that occurs during childhood. In most countries, it seems to be compulsory for children to be primarily educated. It starts when the children are four to eight years of age. The division between primary and secondary education is somewhat arbitrary, but it is generally occurs at about eleven or twelve years of age. In country like the United Kingdom, schools which provide primary education are referred to as primary schools which are often subdivided into infant schools and junior schools.

Meanwhile, secondary education consists of the second years of formal education that occur during adolescence. The purpose of secondary education can be to give common knowledge, to prepare for either higher education or vocational education, or to train directly to a profession. The other types of education are higher education, adult education and also alternative education that seems to be highly expanded year by year. Hence, it is very essential for us to fill up and prepare ourselves with common knowledge at the present. ‘Practise makes perfect’. That what’s we always hear and that will definitely work if we then trust ourselves.

Different Aspects Of Culture

When we talk about 'culture', People's understanding may be varied. What are the real meanings of cultures?

Culture may be performed in many terms as festivals, dances, food, clothing as well as music.
Malaysia is rich of many types of cultures as the country has multicultural nations. Three main nations of Malaysians are Malays, Chinese, and Indians that contribute to different foreign cultures from the previous generations, absorbed into our country.

In term of festivals, the Malays celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri as well as Hari Raya Qurban. Meanwhile, the Chinese will have Chinese New Year and MoonCake Festival as the most hilarious one while the Indians celebrate their Deepavali, Thaipusam and many more. We can also describe culture as clothing. As we can see, Malay women wear a baju kurung, baju kebaya, and a baju kebarung. Oftentimes, if the woman is not dressed in a tudung, a long dress, she will decorate herself with an accessory such as a sanggul, also known as a headscarf. All the clothing modestly covers most of their skin to prevent men from looking at women in a sectual. While Chinese women wear the cheongsam, a one-piece dress with a high neck. It can be fitted or loose, with side slits at the hem.

I Have A Dream!

A very good morning to thousands and millions of you in front of me that I would to share about things, things that become very important regarding our 50th independent. Within 446 years later, our country, our nations as well as our motherland, Malay Land had been invaded by many intruders, different religion foreign invaders from different cultural nations, leaving our development 20 years back, faraway than nowadays developed invaders’ countries according to the rate of infrastructural development. 446 years later, our nations had many many times attracted the wild eyes all over the world, that our men had become great travelers over the world. Our nations had many many times paddled their canoes, explore rather than expose themselves to the world’s countries that our language had ever been ‘lingua franca’ many moons ago.

And so gaining independent is not as easy as ABC. Gaining independent is not like we play games. Gaining independent is not like paying for goods in the markets or outlets. But independent that we gained was full of severe agony that took a very long time to the final achievement that is our freedom. We are all independent…we are all freely working…we are now independently creating our country organizations and governmental systems and that is a proof we are all independent nations.

And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the Malaysian dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and have a better life. I have a dream that my four brothers will one day live in the time that life becomes easier than at the present. And so am I. I have a dream today! I have a dream that is to be a better person and teacher in this life and no doubt about that.

Water Resources And Environmental Problems

“Mom, today’s really hot. My skin will get burn as I get too much exposure to the sun.” That’s what my little brother always moans. “And sometimes it is going very cold.” He continues. In fact, it is so wondering. What lead to the phenomenon?...

Blame ourselves is the must instead of blaming God and it is the true answer, always being that. Every year, vast areas of forests are cleared for the purpose of agriculture and development. All such green ‘creatures’ are thoughtlessly being harvested, ignoring the oncoming long term impacts. Tropical rainforests play important ecological roles. They house almost half of the world’s flora and fauna with many unique species which produce a large amount of oxygen and food we daily eat. Plants are also called the ‘carbon sink’ of the Earth because they absorb vast amounts of carbon dioxide during photosynthesis and at the same time release oxygen in the atmosphere.Then the lack of plants would lead to an increase in the carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere.

As such deforestation disrupts normal weather patterns, creating hotter and drier weather and causing global climatic changes. Scientifically, carbon dioxide emitted by living things can absorb vast amounts of heat from the sunlight. When sunlight enters the earth’s atmosphere, some of its solar radiation is reflected back to space. However, the radiation is not totally out of space as most of the radiation remains trapped as well as absorbed by carbon dioxide, one of the greenhouse gases. The greater the quantity of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the greater the heat will be absorbed. Consequently, this may warm the surface of the land and sea, contributing to an overall rise in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere. The increase in atmospheric temperature is high enough to cause changes in the global climate, namely global warming.

Work, Attitudes and Beliefs, and Social Changes

Scientifically, work is defined as the distance traveled multiplied by the force exerted on an object which is in Joule(J) or Newton meter(Nm) unit. We can make the hypotesis that the greater the force given or exerted on the object, the greater the work is. So as in our daily life. The highest any work exerted to us, the highest the pressure is. I myself have experienced such condition that a lot of work I have to finish up in short time. It does not mean that we should blame our lecturers or teachers. Otherwise, we may blame ourselves. We all know that lecturers just carry on their priorities towards their lessons in classes, thus do not put all blames on them. All we have to do is to properly manage our time as well as creating timetables so that, there is no more blame towards each other.

Everybody has either good or bad attitude. When there is too many works to be finished up at the same time, one’s attitude would immediately change to worse situation. In fact, our attitude is the key that opens our mind and heart to better job performance, an enriching career and life. Of course we want success and good result in all walks of life, in our daily work as well as our relations. The most crucial single factor that guarantees possible results is the positive mental attitude.

Money And Natural Resources

Our earth supplies a large amount of natural resources that is uncountable to be counted. Natural resources can be classified into two main groups which are renewable and non-renewable resources.

Non-renewable resources are considered as resources that cannot be particularly renewed after consuming them. Natural resources like coal, petroleum, natural gas are the examples. Currently, there is a lot of issues associated with these natural resources. The more we talk about the resources the worse certain issues are. Scene like war in the country of Iraq especially is due to the petroleum yield with large amount attracting powerful countries to take charge of it. However, non-renewable resources can gradually be renewed. All we have to do is just to wait for million of years to get the pure yield. Hence, the resources cannot be replaced as fast as we consumed. At the present, world population becomes more and more year by year, day by day that what we are worried about.

In fact, our surroundings are rich of resources that can be renewed, namely renewable energy. Oxygen, fresh water, timber and biomass are the examples of renewable resources. So as wind energy. Wind contributes no pollution which is clean and safe to get used of it.

Wind power is actually the conversion of wind energy into more useful forms, commonly electricity using wind turbines. In certain countries, wind power had been generated in large scale wind forms to generate and supply electricity to rural residences or grid-isolated locations as practiced in California.

My Opinion On The Movie ‘The King And I’.

The movie ‘The King And I’ I watched in the past two weeks had touched me a lot. I like the movie very much as it is an old-fashioned style as well as a classic movie. I actually like the classic movie, the one I had seen, especially when it involves the British authors. The way the characters pronounce each word in British English Language style entirely attracted me to stay tune till the end of the movie although there is a technical problem during half of the movie. I do not know whether it is wrong or not to be a ‘British’ heart. The things that play in my mind till now is that can I be a very fluent person in speaking like the native speakers considering that I’m a very weak person among the rest whether in writing, speaking, listening as well as reading. Only for this text I have tried very hard to make it done.To be continued…

The Way People Live Together And Share Of The World’s Resources

In my hometown, the state of Terengganu, a lot of programmes have been run by the government under the latest chief minister, Dato’ Seri Idris Bin Jusoh for the purpose of increasing the collaboration among nations with different community background. Well, the most common one is ‘gotong-royong’ which is well-organised to the national, state, district even to the village level. In my village, Kampung Atas Tol, in the district of Kuala Terengganu, the celebration is quite warm that the youngers and the oldest generations are actively involved in such tough activity. To my village, there would be a ‘gotong-royong’in a month time which is usually being held on Friday morning in a fortnight. All people, making their steps from their house will have their works together, cleaning the graveyard, roadside area and mosque compound. Meanwhile, the women prepare plenty of food to be served to working men. Food like ‘kuih lapis’, ‘karipap’, and ‘akak’ are the most famous food in my state, served whenever it is going to be a grand ceremony.
When it comes to Friday noon, all male muslims will have their prayers at the mosque as it is a priority as a muslim towards his God. They will gather and listen to a sermon just before they pray. What I would like to share with you is that besides running their priority to God, they have made a lot of donations in the form of cash that seems to have a hectic effect for the purpose of our village and community development somewhere. With the large amount of the money, we may definitely reduce poverty problems faced by lots of people especially people in deep regions as well as it has become one of the contents in Ninth Malaysia Plan.
